Draw up detailed goals to make losing weight easier. Can you visualize a certain number that you would like to see on the scale? Is it your goal to slide into a new pair of jeans that are several sizes smaller, or just feel more svelte in the clothes you already wear? Is your goal to be in better shape or gain energy? Losing weight and keeping it off can seem like an unattainable goal. Good intentions aren’t always enough to overcome the frustration of those sore muscles from your first workouts. What can you do to make sure you’re a success? Weigh yourself weekly and chart your progress. Develop a log that allows you to track your efforts across many weeks. In another section of the same book, keep a journal of the food that you are eating. Writing down what you eat every time you consume food and drinks will help hold you accountable to how much you eat and when you eat it. The act of writing things down may well diminish your desire for excess food.
